All proposals must be vetted through departmental, college, and university curriculum committees. At the University level, proposals are reviewed by the University Senate Committee on Academic Programs (CAP). Core Curriculum proposals are reviewed by CAP General Education Advisory Subcommittee. Proposals at the undergraduate level are reviewed by CAP’s Undergraduate Council. Proposals at the graduate level are reviewed by CAP’s Graduate Council. Depending on the type of proposal, further review may be required by Georgia State University administrators, the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia, and/or the Southern Association for Colleges and Schools – Commission on Colleges. All upcoming CAP meetings and proposal submission deadlines are listed below in our calendar events.
Curriculog
Georgia State University has recently transitioned to a new online curriculum management system called Curriculog. This system is designed for faculty and administrators who are involved in adding, modifying, terminating, or deactivating curriculum proposals for courses, minors, certificates, and degree programs.

The curriculum management process takes place on the Curriculog platform, including the completion of curriculum proposals (both course and program proposals), the curriculum meetings (if desired) and agendas, as well as the review and approval by electronic signature of the curriculum committees and administrators.
To begin a course or program proposal, please email [email protected]. If you are a new user, please use the Curriculog Access Request Form to initiate the process of obtaining access.

Georgia State University Committee on Academic Program (CAP)
To ensure that a proposal will appear on the Committee on Academic Programs agenda by a specific date, units should submit their complete proposal at least one full month prior to that specific date. CAP review is a multi-stage process that begins with review in prescheduled monthly subcommittee meetings (see CAP calendar).
Please be aware any incomplete proposal will need to completed prior to CAP.
The initial subcommittee review often results in requests for revisions, and these typically must be completed and resubmitted within a week of the subcommittee’s review in order to be included on the CAP agenda. The CAP agenda is set a week prior to the CAP meeting in order to give committee members adequate time to complete their review of all subcommittee motions and meeting materials. Proposals that do not meet the deadlines for subcommittee meetings and revisions (when requested) will be moved to the next CAP agenda.
